Bayern Munich have started planning for the future by identifying a long-term successor to Harry Kane, with their attention now turning towards the Premier League. The German giants want to bring in a top-class forward who can eventually step into the huge role that will be vacated by their prolific scorer, raising the possibility of a major transfer tussle in the near future.

According to Sport Bild Head of Football Christian Falk, Bayern Munich are keeping a close watch on Benjamin Sesko as a possible long-term replacement for Kane.

The Bundesliga champions are weighing up their options and have marked the Manchester United striker as one of their leading targets, placing him prominently on their shortlist as they prepare for the eventual post-Kane era.

Manchester United are fully conscious of the increasing interest in the 23-year-old, who joined Old Trafford for an initial fee of €76.50 million in 2025. Although Michael Carrick considers Sesko a key part of his plans after a first season in which he scored 11 Premier League goals in 30 appearances, Bayern continue to assess how they will manage their attacking succession in the years ahead.

Kane remains Bayern Munich's clear first-choice striker. After completing a huge €95m move from Tottenham in 2023, where he had scored a remarkable 280 goals in 435 matches, Kane has taken his game to another level in Germany. Last season, the 33-year-old produced the finest individual campaign of his distinguished career, scoring 61 goals in 51 games across all competitions.

That extraordinary consistency has helped him rack up an incredible 146 goals in 147 appearances in total for Bayern Munich. During his spell at the club, Kane has won two Bundesliga titles, one DFB-Pokal and one German Super Cup, while also lifting the European Golden Boot twice, underlining why replacing him will be such a difficult challenge.

Even as Kane continues to lead the line superbly, Bayern Munich are already thinking ahead. Sesko showed his outstanding ability during a very successful period in Germany before making the switch to England. The Slovenia international scored 39 goals in 87 matches across all competitions for RB Leipzig, firmly establishing himself as one of Europe's leading forwards.

His move to Manchester United has highlighted his ability to adapt, although he is presently working his way back to full fitness after a shin problem disrupted his previous season. United have previously fended off interest in Sesko, and with the club aiming to strengthen their own attack before returning to the Champions League, losing the young striker would create serious problems for their recruitment plans.
