Manchester United have confirmed a multi-year partnership with Betway, with the company becoming the club’s new official training kit sponsor and exclusive global betting partner in a record-setting agreement. Michael Carrick is at Old Trafford.
The deal, worth £20 million annually, is believed to be the most valuable standalone training apparel or shirt-sleeve sponsorship arrangement in the history of world football. After going through last season without a dedicated training wear sponsor, landing this agreement marks a major commercial success for the Old Trafford leadership.
The announcement comes at an important time for both the club and the wider football sponsorship market. With Premier League rules due to prohibit gambling firms from appearing as front-of-shirt sponsors from the 2026/27 season, betting companies have redirected their attention towards secondary commercial assets, with training kit branding becoming a key area in the battle for worldwide exposure. By tying up Betway across their training wear and digital platforms, United have moved effectively to manage the incoming regulatory changes while also maximising their commercial income streams.
As part of the agreement, Betway branding will appear prominently on all men’s and women’s first-team training wear, warm-up clothing, and coaching staff apparel. On top of that, in its role as Manchester United’s exclusive global betting partner, Betway will receive extensive co-branding rights across digital channels, LED perimeter advertising boards at Old Trafford, and international fan-engagement campaigns.
The additional £20 million in yearly commercial revenue comes as part of wider financial stabilisation at Old Trafford under co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS. Combined with the income generated from returning to the UEFA Champions League, the increased financial strength gives manager Michael Carrick important flexibility as he shapes his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
While the main matchday shirts will continue to carry technology company Snapdragon under the club’s existing principal agreement, the significant new deal with Betway further underlines Manchester United’s standing as a commercial force capable of setting fresh financial standards across elite sport.
