IND vs SL: 4 types of spin bowlers entered Team India before the Sri Lanka tour, batsmen will be put to a tough test in the nets

New Delhi: The Indian team has begun sharpening its preparations ahead of the Test series against Sri Lanka. Keeping in mind the spin-friendly Sri Lankan pitches, the team management has added four different spin bowlers for net practice. The purpose of these bowlers is to give the Indian batsmen a chance to face different types of spin before the match.

Four Types of Spin Will Be Available in the Nets

According to reports, the net bowlers include Vipraaj Nigam, Shivang Kumar, Harsh Dubey, and Tanush Kotian. Each of the four bowlers has a different spin style, providing a variety of challenges for the batsmen during practice.

Harsh Dubey bowls left-arm orthodox, while Tanush Kotian is an off-spinner. Vipraaj Nigam bowls leg spin, and Shivang Kumar is known for his left-arm wrist spin. This will give the Indian batsmen the opportunity to face different varieties of spin in a single net session.

Preparations for Sri Lankan pitches

Spin bowlers play a crucial role in Test cricket in Sri Lanka. Therefore, the Indian team wants to prepare its batsmen in advance against different spin styles.

The decision to include four net bowlers is part of this strategy. This will provide batsmen with the opportunity to work on their technique against balls with turn, flight, and different angles.

Shubman Gill to lead the team

Shubman Gill will captain the Indian team in the two-Test series against Sri Lanka, with KL Rahul as vice-captain. The team also includes players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant, Sai Sudarshan, Dhruv Jurel, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav. Sai Sudarshan’s selection is reportedly subject to fitness clearance.

Test series to begin on August 15

The first Test between India and Sri Lanka will be played in Galle from August 15 to 19. The second match will be played at the SSC Ground in Colombo from August 23 to 27. Both Tests will begin at 10:00 AM IST.
