Cody Gakpo is reportedly willing to join Tottenham despite Liverpool’s current transfer position.

Standard Sport understands that Spurs admire the Netherlands international, though they have not yet opened discussions with the Reds over a possible summer move.

Liverpool are not planning to sell Gakpo at present as they continue their search for a replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Paris Saint-Germain and France winger Bradley Barcola is said to be at the top of their shortlist, with the player reportedly valued at £145million.

Liverpool’s immediate priority is navigating complicated transfer negotiations with PSG rather than allowing one of their key attacking players to leave.

However, a report from Caught Offside says Gakpo would be prepared to move to Spurs if a transfer fee can be agreed with Liverpool.

According to that report, Tottenham received encouragement from the player’s representatives during exploratory contact.

Football Insider has reported an asking price of around £70m, although it is still unclear whether the Reds will maintain their current firm stance.

Despite already spending £237m this summer and bringing in six new players, De Zerbi wants to add another two or three before the transfer window shuts and has insisted the club’s business is only 60 per cent complete.

Spurs are looking at signing a winger and potentially another striker, and they have identified Gakpo as an option for the left wing who can also operate as a No. 9.
