Aston Villa are targeting Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal, with a £30 million offer being prepared. According to reports, Unai Emery’s side are getting ready to make a bid for the 19-year-old.
Bernal enjoyed his breakthrough during the 2025/26 season, making 33 appearances across all competitions and establishing himself as one of Barcelona’s most exciting young talents. Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is believed to see him as a key part of the club’s future plans.
The teenager is understood to be one of Emery’s priority targets as Villa weigh up a move to test Barcelona’s determination to keep hold of him.
Meanwhile, former West Brom loanee Toby Collyer has reportedly been told he is free to leave Manchester United on a permanent transfer this summer. The 22-year-old was left out of the squad that travelled to Stockholm for Saturday’s pre-season victory over Atletico Madrid.
Collyer joined West Brom on loan last August, but picked up a calf injury towards the end of November. United brought him back on 1 January before he later joined Hull City on loan for the rest of the campaign.
