Automobile Desk: If you are planning to bring home a new TVS electric scooter in the near future, then this news may affect your budget. Vehicle manufacturer TVS has revised and increased the prices of its two popular electric scooters in the Indian market – iQube and Orbiter. According to recent reports from the auto sector, the prices have increased by a minimum of Rs 500 to a maximum of Rs 13,580 depending on the different models and variants. The new rates have been implemented with immediate effect.

TVS iQube: How much impact on which model?

Talking about the company’s most popular model TVS iQube, the price has been increased differently for each variant:

​2.2 kWh (Base model): This has seen the most minor increase of Rs 500.

​3.1 kWh variant: The price of this model has been increased by around Rs 1,650.

​3.5 kWh variant: Customers will now have to pay Rs 3,900 extra for this variant.

​S (4.7 kWh) variant: Its price has been increased by Rs 3,000.

ST (5.3 kWh – Top Model): There is a big difference in this and its price has increased by Rs 10,400 directly.

After these revised rates come into effect, the starting ex-showroom price of the TVS iQube range now starts at around Rs 1.15 lakh and goes up to Rs 1.72 lakh for its most premium variant.

TVS Orbiter: Base and top variants get heavier

The price of TVS’s other electric vehicle, the TVS Orbiter, has also been directly affected. According to reports, the price of its base model, the V1, has increased by approximately ₹7,000. However, the top-spec variant has seen the biggest increase, with prices increasing by ₹13,580.

After this major price revision, the starting ex-showroom price of TVS Orbiter now starts at Rs 95,000, while its top-end variant has reached Rs 1.18 lakh ex-showroom.

There will be a direct impact on the pockets of the customers

Amid the recent surge in competition and component costs in the country’s EV market, this move by TVS will directly burden new buyers. Customers who were planning to book during the festive season or in the coming months will now have to shell out more than they had previously budgeted for the on-road price of these scooters.
