These five most anticipated SUVs coming to the market include options with petrol and diesel engines, as well as plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains. Let’s take a closer look at the five major SUVs expected to launch in 2026 and set to make waves in the auto market.

1. Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift (2026 Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift)

The Mahindra Scorpio N, a popular 7-seater on Indian roads, is set to receive a major feature-focused update in 2026. The SUV has set several sales records since its debut in 2022. Now, the company is introducing a new avatar to keep it ahead of its modern rivals.

Key Features and Changes: The 2026 Mahindra Scorpio N facelift will feature a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, and a 10.25-inch fully digital driver display. It will also feature a 360-degree camera for easier parking in tight spaces, 65W fast Type-C charging ports, and newly designed 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

Engine and Performance: The facelift will remain unchanged mechanically. The existing 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol (203 PS) and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel (175 PS) engines will be retained, with options of a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic, and 4×4 capability.

Expected Price: Its starting ex-showroom price is expected to be around Rs 13.50 lakh.

2. Volvo EX90 Flagship Electric SUV

Swedish luxury car manufacturer Volvo is introducing its most advanced and flagship electric SUV to date, the Volvo EX90, to the Indian market. Featuring a 7-seater layout, this premium electric vehicle is a unique blend of technology, safety, and minimalist Scandinavian design.

Key Features and Safety: The Volvo EX90 features safety systems such as advanced LiDAR sensors, 360-degree cameras, a Driver Understanding System, and Level 3 ADAS. Inside, the cabin features a large portrait touchscreen with Google software built-in and a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins premium audio system.

Battery, Range, and Speed: Featuring a large battery pack with over 100 kWh, it offers a driving range of over 600 km on a single full charge. With an all-wheel drive dual motor setup, it generates over 500 hp.

Expected Price: Its ex-showroom price in India is expected to be between Rs 1.20 crore to Rs 1.50 crore.

3. Mahindra BE 6 / Vision S

Mahindra is preparing to introduce the Vision S SUV, based on the BE 6 and NU_IQ platforms, as part of its new Born EV series. The company aims to expand its dominance in the electric car market and introduce a completely new design style.

Cabin and Design Highlights: The cabin of this new electric SUV will be quite futuristic. It will feature a triple-screen setup (infotainment, driver console, and passenger display) on the dashboard. The aerodynamic coupe-SUV body style, flush door handles, and advanced ambient lighting give it a premium look.

Battery and Performance: The car is based on Mahindra’s new architecture, which will be capable of delivering a driving range of 450 to 500 km with battery packs ranging from 60 kWh to 80 kWh and rear-wheel/all-wheel drive options.

Expected Price: Its expected starting price can be between Rs 18.90 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.

4. MG Hector Hawk

MG Motor India is launching its popular Hector series in a new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and fully electric (EV) avatar, likely to be called the ‘Hector Hawk.’ The vehicle has been spotted testing on Indian roads several times.

State-of-the-art cabin and styling: The MG Hector Hawk features a minimalist cabin layout with new rectangular LED headlights, wrap-around connected LED tail-lamps, and dual digital screens. It will also feature a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and advanced connected car features.

Powertrain Options: This SUV could be available in both hybrid and pure electric powertrain options. The hybrid version will pair a petrol engine with an electric motor, ensuring excellent fuel efficiency and low emissions.

Expected Price: The MG Hector Hawk is expected to start at around Rs 22 lakh, ex-showroom.

5. Tata Sierra 2026

Tata Motors’ iconic SUV, the Tata Sierra, is set to return to Indian roads in a completely new, modern avatar in 2026. The company plans to launch this iconic car from the 90s with three powertrain options: petrol, diesel, and electric.

Design and Layout: The new Tata Sierra retains the signature glass-house design with a modern twist. It features a curved-style front fascia, full-width connected LED DRLs, and a spacious 5-seater/4-seater lounge cabin layout.

Features and Safety: It will be equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, digital driver display, JBL sound system, ventilated front seats and a 360-degree camera along with a 5-star safety rating Bharat NCAP approved structure.

Expected Price: The starting ex-showroom price of Tata Sierra is expected to be between Rs 11.50 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
