There is a strong possibility that a major and final decision will be taken regarding the distribution of funds for this scheme in the important meeting of the state cabinet to be held today, August 4, 2026. There is currently a heated discussion on whether Rs 1500 will be deposited in the bank accounts of women this month as usual, or whether they will get Rs 3000 directly on the occasion of the festival.
Why is the possibility of getting Rs 3000 being predicted?
The state government is preparing to give a special gift to women due to the Raksha Bandhan festival coming up on 28th August. The beneficiary women have already received the installment for the month of June. However, since the regular installment for the month of July is still pending, the government can combine the money for both the months of July and August and transfer Rs 3000 directly to the women’s accounts, according to sources. Today’s cabinet meeting will mainly approve the financial provisions of the Ladki Bahin Yojana. The plan will be clear today on how this fund can be delivered to the accounts of women before August 15 through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) process. Disqualification and e-KYC hit hard
The state government has launched a stringent verification drive to increase transparency in the scheme. Lakhs of women have been disqualified from the scheme due to lack of Aadhaar linkage, incomplete e-KYC process and submission of fake income certificates.
