Bilawal Bhutto Warns PM Shehbaz Sharif Over PoK Elections: The PPP and PML-N, two major allies of Pakistan’s ruling coalition, have once again clashed over the PoK elections. Both sides are accusing each other of widespread rigging. Bilawal Bhutto issued a warning to PM Shehbaz Sharif, sparking widespread unrest across the country over the PoK elections.

Bilawal Bhutto warned that if any attempt is made to steal the elections, the countdown to Pakistan’s federal government will begin immediately. He directly told the PML-N, “Tick tock, your countdown has begun.” He clarified that the PPP’s movement will not be limited to Kashmir or Gilgit.

Protests across Pakistan

Bilawal stated that this massive mass movement will not be limited to Gilgit-Baltistan or the mountains of Kashmir. He will soon expand this campaign to the entire Pakistan. It should be noted that Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are integral parts of India, which Pakistan has illegally and forcibly occupied since 1947-48.

This so-called election in PoK is being held in three phases. The first phase concluded on July 27th, while voting for the second phase took place on August 3rd, and the third phase is scheduled for August 10th. Currently, the PML-N is leading, and the PPP has won only nine seats. India has described this election as a mere sham.

Increasing violence and public protests

Since the election process began, widespread violence and unrest have spread across the region. More than 40 people have been killed so far in violent crackdowns by Pakistani security forces. Meanwhile, on social media, people are strongly advising Bilawal to improve the dire situation in Sindh and Karachi, formerly ruled by the PPP.

Users say that Kashmiris didn’t vote for Bilawal Bhutto after seeing the plight of Karachi. Amid this controversy, PML-N leader Azma Bukhari also mocked Bilawal’s warning. She sarcastically said, “Oh no, we’re already scared by his threat, and what will happen to us now?”
