The Indian contingent recorded a historic campaign at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, finishing with 39 medals, 13 gold, 17 silver and nine bronze.

India finished fourth in the medal standings, edging Scotland on the strength of its silver medal count after both nations finished with 13 gold medals. India won 17 silvers, nine more than Scotland, to secure fourth place.

The 122-member Indian contingent competed across all 10 sports on the reduced Glasgow 2026 programme. Athletics and boxing emerged as India’s most successful disciplines with 10 medals each, followed by weightlifting with eight medals.

The 2026 edition also witnessed several landmark achievements. Birmingham 2022 champion Mirabai Chanu successfully defended her title to become only the second Indian to win three successive Commonwealth Games gold medals.

Boxer Jaismine Lamboria and shot putter Sharmila Dhankar emerged as new Commonwealth champions, while Asmita Dey became India’s first-ever Commonwealth Games judo gold medallist alongside fellow judoka Harsh Tokas, who also won gold on the same day.
