Amaal Mallik has composed the songs of ‘Awarapan 2’ keeping in mind the characters from the first film.

Renowned music composer and singer Amaal Malik has composed the song “Yeh Awarapan” from the Emraan Hashmi-starrer action-romantic film “Awarapan 2”. In a conversation with IANS, he spoke about the challenges behind creating the popular song.

Speaking to IANS during the promotions of the film, Amaal said, “The song ‘Yeh Awarapan’ was created keeping in mind the emotions of the characters in the film ‘Awarapan’. When the film was released in theatres, I watched it about 3-4 times in theatres. Later, I watched it on TV and streamed it a lot, so we created the song keeping Emraan Hashmi’s character in mind. However, the story of ‘Awarapan 2’ has been slightly changed.

The composer called the songs “To Phir Aao” and “Tera Mera Rishta” from “Awaarapan” a tribute. He said these songs have kept the characters from the film alive for 20 years.

Expressing his hope, he said, “I hope I will be able to take it forward. In this song, there is a meeting of the old Shivam (Emraan Hashmi’s character) and the new Shivam. This song is a mix and union of ‘Awarapan’ and ‘Awarapan 2’ and means there is a relatability somewhere. The melody of the song is very simple, the story is very deep and it defines everyone’s life somewhere. Apart from the film, everyone has seen the journey of ‘Awarapan’ in their life. Those who have lived such a life feel very connected to this song.”
