After winning the Bankipur Assembly by-election in Bihar by over 19,000 votes, Jansuraj founder Prashant Kishore said that Bankipur will not become Bengaluru simply because one person becomes an MLA. In Patna, Prashant Kishore spoke at length about the future of politics and the development of the Bankipur Assembly constituency, among other important issues.

Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishor said, “We’ve said that Bankipur won’t become Bengaluru just because Prashant Kishor or anyone else becomes an MLA. But if the public here gives us the opportunity, we’ll create a blueprint and release it in the next 1-1.5 years on how Bankipur can become like Bengaluru or a better city like Bengaluru. We’ll release that blueprint.”

Commenting on the Bankipur election results, Prashant Kishor said, “This election should be viewed more as the BJP’s defeat than as a victory. The people of the BJP, the BJP leadership, the people of Bihar, and the voters of Bankipur have sent a message: you have been given the opportunity to form a government with a large majority. Don’t waste that opportunity.”

Don’t let the wrong person lead that government. Install a good person in Bihar so that we can discuss education, employment, and migration. People in Bihar want progress. You’ve been continuously seeking votes in the name of jungle raj. You’ve been getting votes, and if you put a member of that jungle raj in power by dressing him in saffron, the public will not accept him.

Regarding his future strategy, Prashant Kishore said, “The strategy for the future is the same as what we’ve been doing for the past three years. We’ll continue to do the same. Now we’ll visit ashrams, meet people, and go from village to village. We’ll try to convince people that the people of Bankipur have understood. If we can improve the lives of the people of Bankipur, we’ll tell them that the improvements happening in Bankipur can also happen in their area.”

Regarding BJP National President Nitin Naveen, he said, “He is certainly a son of Digha, but his voters are from Digha, not Bankipur. Nitin Naveen is from Bihar and is the National President of the BJP. In that regard, my best wishes to him. It is a matter of pride for us that a person from Bihar is the National President of the BJP, but if he does good work as the President of the BJP, then it will be considered better.”

Regarding the political future of opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav, he said, “Everyone knows what his future holds. He is the leader of the opposition and the son of Lalu Prasad Yadav. The RJD is a large party and he is in the role of leader of the opposition.”

Referring to the health of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Prashant Kishore said that the current JDU working president was expelled from the party. Had Nitish Kumar’s health been good, the people around him who are enjoying the fruits of power in his name would not have been there.

Referring to the Bharat Tiwari case, Prashant Kishore targeted Manoj Tiwari. He said, “When a victim’s family, who is mentally disturbed, is introduced to Samrat Chaudhary and the message is sent to society that they have reached a compromise, just for votes, it is despicable. Manoj Tiwari has committed a heinous crime.”

He said, “I’m challenging Manoj Tiwari on camera. Come and get justice for that family. If you can’t, then never come to Bihar again. Bihar isn’t Delhi. People here will remember. People here may listen to your songs, but they’re not listening to what you have to say.”

He said that he is not angry with Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. As a Bihari, he is upset that the Bihar Chief Minister is being led by someone who failed in the seventh grade and submitted a false certificate about his degree. Such a person should not be the Chief Minister of Bihar. He has been jailed for murder, and this is not a personal dispute.

Regarding the support of the youth in the elections, Prashant Kishore said that the number of youth already involved in Jan Suraj is quite large. They are with us because the youth here consider education, employment, and migration to be major issues.

Referring to the 2025 assembly elections, he said, “It’s possible that our words didn’t translate into votes at that time. Perhaps there were weaknesses in our organization. It’s possible that we weren’t able to present our case strongly enough at that time.”
