
New Delhi. In its ongoing campaign against crime and criminals, the Delhi Police has achieved a major success. In a joint operation by the Outer North District Police Special Staff and the Alipur Police Station, an active member of the Neeraj Bawana-Naveen Bali gang was arrested after an encounter. The arrested criminal has been identified as Savinder alias Baba alias Pagal (36). Savinder alias Baba extorted money from businessmen and property dealers in the Alipur and Narela areas. He faces six serious charges, including murder, attempt to murder, and the Arms Act. Police recovered a pistol, three live cartridges, and five empty shells from him.
Delhi Police Northern Range Joint Commissioner Vijay Singh stated that police received intelligence that a member of the Neeraj Bawana-Naveen Bali gang would be approaching Hiranki Pushta Road on Monday night. A police team deployed from GT Road to Hiranki Pushta Road. When the suspect arrived shortly after, police signaled him to stop. Upon this, the suspect opened fire on the police team. The police retaliated by firing. A bullet hit the criminal’s left leg, injuring him, after which the police apprehended him.
In this encounter, Sub-Inspector Vishal narrowly escaped the criminal’s bullet. His life was saved by his bulletproof jacket. The operation was carried out under the supervision of DCP Shobhit D. Saxena, led by Inspector Vishvendra Chaudhary and SHO Shailendra Kumar. The criminal, Savinder alias Baba, was taken to Raja Harishchandra Hospital in an injured condition, from where he was referred to Lok Nayak Hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital and is in stable condition.
