JSW MG Hector Hawk SUV: The Indian SUV market is evolving rapidly, and consumer preferences have moved beyond just rugged looks. Buyers now seek SUVs that offer premium features, impressive driving range, and modern technology. With this in mind, JSW MG Motor is preparing to launch the new JSW MG Hector Hawk on August 26. The JSW MG Hector Hawk will launch in India with both EV and PHEV powertrain options. Here is a look at its range, features, design, interior, pricing, and competition.

JSW MG Hector Hawk SUV Range

If you are considering an electric SUV, the Hector Hawk’s EV variant is a compelling choice. It is expected to feature an LFP battery pack with an approximate capacity of 69.2 kWh; LFP batteries are renowned for their superior safety and longevity.

The SUV is likely to be equipped with a single electric motor on the front axle, producing around 204 PS of power and 310 Nm of torque. According to the company, the driving range could reach up to 530 km (CLTC), making long-distance travel convenient.

Variants

For those who desire the benefits of both electric and petrol power, the Plug-in Hybrid version of the Hector Hawk could be an excellent option.

It is expected to feature a 1.5-litre petrol engine, an electric motor, and a battery pack of approximately 20.5 kWh. The petrol engine alone would deliver around 106PS of power and 130Nm of torque, while the combined system could generate approximately 197PS of power and 230Nm of torque.

Interestingly, the SUV can cover up to 125 km in pure electric mode. With a fully charged battery and a full fuel tank, its total driving range could reach up to 1,100 km.

7-Seater Cabin

The Hector Hawk is expected to launch in India with a 7-seater layout, making it a great choice for large families. Its cabin will feature a clean design and a dual-tone theme.

The dashboard is expected to house a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. Additionally, features such as a wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats, automatic climate control, a premium audio system, and rear AC vents will further enhance its premium appeal.

Safety Features

The new Hector Hawk is robust not only in terms of features but also in safety. It is expected to come equipped with several modern safety features, including advanced ADAS, six airbags, an electronic parking brake, a parking camera, parking sensors, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and Hill Hold Assist.

Price

As for pricing, the JSW MG Hector Hawk is expected to start at around ₹18 lakh (ex-showroom). Its EV variant could compete with electric SUVs like the Mahindra XEV 9e, while the PHEV variant will emerge as a new option in its segment, challenging SUVs such as the Mahindra XUV 7XO and the Tata Safari.
