Sharad Pawar is renowned for his political maneuvering, leaving no one able to predict his next move. Now, it appears his daughter, Supriya Sule, has followed suit. Just a day earlier, Supriya Sule tweeted that she had a throat problem and was about to undergo therapy. The very next day, she appeared in Parliament, touching the feet of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. This is now being linked to speculation that the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) may also join the ruling party. This is the same party whose MP, Supriya Sule, is the leader of, and whose father, Sharad Pawar, is the head.

It’s often said about Sharad Pawar that he knows what, when, and why he does what. Remember, when Ajit Pawar took the oath of office early in the morning with Devendra Fadnavis, Sharad Pawar refused to support him. Regarding this, Ajit Pawar himself has repeatedly stated that everything happened at Sharad Pawar’s behest. Similarly, immediately after the 2014 assembly elections, Sharad Pawar announced his support to the BJP government from outside.

Sharad Pawar himself later explained that this was merely a political ploy to keep the Shiv Sena away from the BJP and power. While Sharad Pawar wasn’t immediately successful, he succeeded in breaking the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in 2019. Under his leadership, the Shiv Sena, Congress, and NCP formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi (Maha Vikas Aghadi), a unique coalition government in Maharashtra. Now, it appears Supriya Sule is doing something similar.

What did Supriya Sule write on July 18?

On July 18, two days before the start of the Parliament session, Supriya Sule wrote in a post on X, “I just met with Dr. Milind Kirtane regarding my throat and voice. He found some swelling in my throat and advised me to take voice rest. I will undergo voice therapy. I have been advised to avoid speeches, interviews, and long speeches for the next week or two. Thank you for your understanding.”

Earlier, on July 17th, Supriya Sule had attended the ongoing demonstration at Jant Mantar and voiced her support for the protesters. Interestingly, she also delivered a speech from this platform and appeared to have no apparent difficulty speaking.

What happened on July 19?

The day after posting this, Supriya Sule was in Delhi. She attended an all-party meeting chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Before this meeting, she was seen touching Singh’s feet. Furthermore, she also attended a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC).

After Supriya Sule tweeted that she would be taking fewer baths for the next week or two, she spoke with the media in Mumbai. Moreover, she was quite vocal and answering questions.

Where is Supriya Sule on July 20?

Supriya Sule was also in Delhi on July 20th, the day the Parliament session began. She attended a meeting of opposition parties. This meeting was attended by leaders of various opposition parties, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge.

Supriya Sule on Sharad Pawar’s path?

In fact, there’s a strong buzz these days that the Sharad Pawar-led faction of the NCP is preparing to join the ruling party, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). It’s being said that the BJP has proposed that the two factions first merge before discussions can take place. In the past few days, several leaders from both NCP factions have met with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. It’s being said that Sharad Pawar and Supriya Sule are playing a trick that no one can understand, in order to prevent another split in their party.

On one hand, Supriya Sule is active as an opposition leader. On the other hand, regarding the delimitation bill, she says that it hasn’t been introduced yet, and they’ll see if it does. On the other hand, there’s talk of a split within the NCP, and the party’s primary focus is on preventing a split. On this issue, Supriya Sule said that Sharad Pawar is a leader who listens to everyone. This indicates that Supriya Sule is now following her father’s lead, leaving no one to guess what she’s actually up to.
