Emraan Hashmi has once again sparked excitement among fans with his latest revelation about Awarapan 2.
The film, expected to hit theatres later this month, will feature Emraan reprising his role as Shivam in the sequel.
In an exclusive live session with his fans, the Murder 2 actor revealed why the film is likely to bring back memories of the first instalment in the franchise.
He said, “For all Awarapan fans who watched the first film, I’m sure watching part 2 will bring back memories of the first part. And when they watch part 2, they’ll have some new memories added to Awarapan 1 once they get out of the hall.
“And there’s a new generation, which I imagine is Gen Z, who did not watch Awarapan 1. After watching part 2, they’ll be very curious to see Awarapan 1. I am saying this live here that we will be releasing Awarapan 1 as a prequel, the original story of Shivam. People will get to see it after watching Awarapan 2.”
For the unversed, Awarapan 2 stars Emraan Hashmi, Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli, Aniruddh Rawal, and Atul Kumar in key roles.
The film is slated for a global release on August 14, 2026.
