New Delhi: Skipper Sarthak Ranjan’s explosive 95 and Yash Bhatia’s unbeaten half-century helped North Delhi Strikers register a resounding six-wicket win over East Delhi Riders in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026. North Delhi chased down the target of 172 with four overs to spare at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday night.

Earlier, batting first, East Delhi Riders scored 171 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. Sujal Singh led the team with a superb batting performance, scoring an unbeaten 82 runs off 50 balls. His innings included six fours and four sixes.

The Riders didn’t have a good start, losing wickets at regular intervals, but Sujal held one end together. Showing a perfect mix of patience and aggression, he scored quickly in the final overs to help his team reach a respectable total.

Vikas Dixit was the most economical bowler for North Delhi Strikers, taking one wicket for just 19 runs in four overs, while the other bowlers also bowled accurately to keep the opposition batsmen under pressure.

Chasing a target of 172, North Delhi Strikers also had a poor start as they lost two wickets for 39 runs in the opening overs.

Captain Sarthak Ranjan and Yash Bhatia then added 113 runs for the third wicket to completely change the course of the match.

Sarthak Ranjan played a blistering innings of 95 runs off 50 balls. He hit seven fours and eight sixes. In the 14th over, he completely turned the match in his team’s favor by scoring 29 runs off Simarjeet Singh. Although he fell just five runs short of a century, North Delhi’s victory was almost certain.

Bharat Sindhwani also departed early after Sarthak’s dismissal, but Yash Bhatia maintained his composure. He scored an unbeaten half-century to guide the team to the target without further setbacks, giving North Delhi Strikers a memorable six-wicket win.
