PF Account: The EPFO will soon launch the ‘e-Praapti’ digital platform, making it easier to access information about funds stuck in old PF accounts, link them to a UAN, and facilitate withdrawals. Here are the full details.
EPFO E-PRAAPTI Portal News: If your money is stuck in an old or dormant PF account, this news is crucial for you. To provide relief to millions of members, the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is preparing to launch a new digital platform called ‘e-Praapti’ (E-PRAAPTI). The primary objective of this portal is to assist employees who have funds lying idle in old PF accounts.
With the help of this portal, employees will be able to get updates on their old PF accounts; furthermore, they can link these accounts to their current UAN and withdraw the stuck funds if needed. Let’s explore this in detail...
What is the E-PRAAPTI Portal?
E-PRAAPTI—or the 'Portal for Tracking Inoperative Accounts'—is a digital platform. Through this portal, old and inactive PF accounts can now be easily tracked. Moreover, employees can link their old PF accounts to their current UAN. The biggest advantage is that employees will no longer need to make repeated visits to former employers or EPFO offices.
How does the E-PRAAPTI Portal work?
Employees can log in to the portal using Aadhaar-based authentication.
They can submit an online application by providing details of the old PF account or Member ID.
The system will then match the old account with the current UAN.
If the old Member ID matches the current UAN, the PF accounts can be merged.
If an employee has an old Member ID but no UAN, they can generate a new UAN through this portal.
Who will benefit first?
Initially, this facility will be particularly beneficial for employees who possess the Member ID of their old PF account. Subsequently, these facilities could also be extended to those who do not have their old PF details available.
This portal could make the process of withdrawing funds stuck in old PF accounts significantly faster and easier than before.
