The Monsoon Session of Parliament continues to be stalemate. On Thursday, the Lok Sabha proceedings were disrupted by uproar. Despite Speaker Om Birla’s repeated appeals for calm, the opposition continued to shout slogans and protest, leading to the House being adjourned until 2 pm.

Opposition MPs are demanding a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the House. They are also raising the issue of the Ram Temple offerings allegations.

Due to the uproar, Question Hour has not been conducted properly for a single day. Essential government work has been stalled since the start of the session.

Speaker Om Birla repeatedly appealed to the opposition to allow the House to function, but he had to adjourn the proceedings till 2 pm.

On Wednesday, amid uproar, the Lok Sabha passed a key bill that would allow digital and virtual bank records to be considered as evidence in courts.

The bill, passed by voice vote, aims to update banking evidence laws to accommodate modern digital transactions. The uproar prevented any discussion.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju attacked the opposition, saying the Congress, CPI, and Samajwadi Party have consistently opposed Lord Ram.

Kiren Rijiju also expressed displeasure over the opposition’s protest in Parliament premises regarding the Ram Temple offerings. He said that this had hurt the sentiments of people across the country and alleged that the opposition was deliberately obstructing Parliament from functioning.

Citing Congress MP KC Venugopal, he said, “Venugopal is a good man, but he is unable to teach decency to his colleagues. The government is ready for discussion.”
