The weather will worsen on August 7! The IMD has issued an alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms.

The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning for most parts of the country tomorrow, Friday, August 7. Torrential rain is expected across the mountains, plains, and coastal areas, along with thunderstorms and lightning in some areas.

New Delhi: The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning for most parts of the country tomorrow, Friday, August 7. Torrential rain is expected across the mountains, plains, and coastal areas, along with thunderstorms and lightning in some areas.  

North India: Rain from the mountains to Delhi

Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall tomorrow. The weather will also remain poor in the plains. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely in Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, and eastern and western Uttar Pradesh.  

According to the IMD, Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula, the Tricity region, will experience partly cloudy skies and thunderstorms. Maximum temperatures are expected to hover between 31 and 35 degrees Celsius, and minimum temperatures between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius. Heavy rain is also expected at isolated places in Haryana and Chandigarh.  

Central and Eastern India: Alert from MP to Bihar

Rainfall is showing no signs of abating in Central India as well. Both western and eastern Madhya Pradesh will experience heavy rainfall tomorrow. A yellow alert for heavy rain has also been issued in Chhattisgarh. In eastern India, heavy rain is also possible in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand.  

Northeast: Very heavy rain and lightning

Heavy to very heavy rainfall will occur in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura tomorrow. Thunderstorm warnings have also been issued for many areas. People living near rivers have been asked to remain vigilant.  

West India: Thunderstorm in Maharashtra-Gujarat

Rainfall will continue in Konkan, Goa, Central Maharashtra, and Gujarat. Central Maharashtra is on alert for very heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Winds up to 50 kmph are possible in Marathwada. Thunderstorms are also possible in Saurashtra and Kutch.  

South India: Strong winds in Kerala-Karnataka

The active monsoon is also causing bad weather in the south. Rain will occur in Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana, and both parts of Karnataka. Thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds will occur in Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep.

A strong wind alert is also in effect for coastal Karnataka and Telangana. Heavy rainfall is possible in Lakshadweep, northern interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. The Meteorological Department has urged people to exercise caution when venturing outside during inclement weather.
