Tehran: Iran has urged Gulf countries to pressure US President Donald Trump to prevent a possible military strike on Iran, warning that if the US attacks Iran’s energy and other vital infrastructure, Tehran will target energy installations and other strategic locations in the Gulf region.

According to media reports, Iran conveyed this message during high-level diplomatic contacts with Gulf countries in recent days. Citing a senior Iranian official, the report said potential retaliatory measures could include oil and gas installations, refineries, power and water supply networks, transportation infrastructure, and other critical infrastructure.

According to the report, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi urged Gulf countries to use their influence with the US to pursue dialogue and a diplomatic solution rather than military action. He said Iran wants to avoid a wider conflict in the region but is prepared to retaliate if attacked.
