BMC has sanctioned Rs 87.33 lakh for an educational trip to the Nehru Centre in Worli for 28,136 Grade 8 students from its primary and secondary schools in 2026-27. Students will learn about science, space, Indian culture and history through the planetarium, ‘Discovery of India’ exhibition, library and other educational activities.
Mumbai: In 2026-27, more than 26,136 students of Grade 8 from BMC's primary and secondary schools will be taken on a school trip to the Nehru Centre in Worli. Rs 87.33 lakh will be spent on this. The proposal for the civic school students trip was sanctioned in the BMC standing committee on Thursday.
During this school trip, students will be provided with information on science, space, Indian culture, and history. Students will gain practical knowledge through the Nehru Centre's planetarium, "Discovery of India" exhibition, library, and other educational activities.
A total of 28,136 students, including 26,600 primary and 1,536 secondary students, will participate in the school trip. --
