Iran is currently preparing legislation to interdict enemy ships. The Iranian parliament has discussed a proposed bill to strengthen control over the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the proposed bill, ships from countries like the US and Israel would be barred from transiting this waterway, with fines for violating this rule.

Gulf News and Al Jazeera reported this, citing Iran’s Tasnim news agency. Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker and Chief Negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has again commented on the issue of lack of trust between Iran and the US on social media.

He has accused Washington of sometimes issuing military threats and sometimes talking about diplomacy. Iran’s Intelligence Ministry has announced that 21 people have been arrested in Kerman province on charges of working for Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad.

According to reports, two explosions occurred on Thursday night on the southern Qeshm Island in Iran’s Hormozgan province, at the entrance to the Strait of Hormoz.

Iranian armed forces reportedly clashed with enemy forces earlier. Hormozgan’s deputy governor for political, security and social affairs, Ahmad Nafisi, was quoted as saying that officials were investigating the cause of the blasts.

Earlier on Thursday, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hadath and Al-Arabiya news channels reported that Iran and Oman had agreed on the outline of a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for 60 days.

According to China’s Xinhua news agency, the agreement is yet to be approved by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.

According to this agreement, ships entering the Strait of Hormuz will use the route near Iran, while ships exiting will use the route near Oman.

They will not be charged any fees. Upon receiving Council approval, the United States and Iran will return to their peace agreement and announce the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz for safe passage to commercial vessels.

It is being said that Iran and the US are in contact through mediators. These talks have now reached their final stages. US President Donald Trump has expressed hope that the war with Iran will end soon. Meanwhile, Iran has increased internal security in Tehran.
