The team of the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department inspected flour manufacturing units in the district, collected samples, and sent them to the lab for testing. The Commissioner of Food Safety and Drug Administration, Lucknow, in his letter No. FSDA/Abhi/2026/3945 dated 03.08.2026, stated that according to news reports published in newspapers and information gathered from previous district actions, flour is being adulterated with rock stone and rice.

In view of the above, the team of the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department inspected M/s Ananya Food King Industries Pvt. Ltd. and M/s Sharad Industries, address- Lasra, Post-Avchhor, Police Station-Robertsganj, Sonbhadra, on 05.08.2026 to take action against the flour manufacturing units. During the inspection, instructions were given to maintain cleanliness and keep food items on pallets. This was found at M/s Sharad Industries.

Correction notice was issued to rectify the deficiencies. As per rules, the sample of food item flour from both the above establishments was collected by opening the packet of 05 kg and sent to the food analyst for testing and the remaining packets of 03 kg each were seized and handed over to the custody of the owner of both the establishments/manufacturing units. Apart from this, the sample of food item-wheat flour was collected from M/s Maa Vaishno Industries, Village-Sirasai Ghorawal, Sonbhadra and was inspected and sent to the concerned lab for testing. On receiving the test report of the food analyst, necessary action will be taken as per rules.
