Vietnam defeated Cambodia 3-1 to finish top of Group A and book a place in the semifinals of the 2026 ASEAN Cup, where they will face the Group B runners-up.
Nguyen Dinh Bac opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a brilliant solo run before Cambodia equalized through Brazilian-born forward Bento in the 70th minute, ending Vietnam’s run without conceding a goal.
Vietnam regained the lead in the 84th minute thanks to a Cambodian own goal after Nguyen Xuan Son’s chipped effort, and Dinh Bac sealed the victory five minutes later with a composed finish over goalkeeper Koy Salim.
The brace took Dinh Bac to the top of the tournament’s scoring chart. Vietnam dominated possession for most of the match and created numerous chances, while goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang made several important interventions despite conceding his first goal of the tournament.
