Varun Tej’s latest horror-comedy Korean Kanakaraju has registered a decent opening at the box office. On Day 1, the film collected a net of ₹3.95 crore in India from 1,656 shows. Its total India gross stands at around ₹4.50 crore. The film also earned approximately ₹2 crore from overseas markets, taking its worldwide gross collection to ₹6.50 crore. The opening comes at an important time for Varun Tej, who has returned to the big screen after a two-year gap. His previous theatrical release was Matka in 2024. Korean Kanakaraju is produced by Rajeev Reddy Yeduguru, Pramod Uppalapati and Vamri Krishna Reddy. S. Thaman has composed the music, while Manojh Reddy has handled the cinematography. Varun Tej, known for films such as Gaddalakonda Ganesh, Kanche, Fidaa and Tholi Prema, is hoping that Korean Kanakaraju will give him a much-needed box office success. With the first-day worldwide gross at ₹6.50 crore, the film’s performance over the weekend will now be crucial in determining its overall box office prospects.
