Maharashtra CET Cell Extends LLB Option Form Deadline After HC Order; 78 Law Colleges Added

Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has revised the admission schedule for three-year and five-year LLB courses after the Bombay High Court directed authorities to extend the option form deadline, allowing candidates to revise their college preferences following the addition of newly approved law colleges.

BCI Approval To GLC Mumbai, Other Colleges Prompts Schedule Revision

The revision comes after the Bar Council of India (BCI) granted approval to Government Law College (GLC), Mumbai, along with several other law colleges that were not included in the initial admission list. The late approvals had triggered uncertainty among thousands of law aspirants, prompting petitions before the High Court seeking additional time to exercise their options.

Following the court's directions, candidates applying for the three-year LLB programme can now submit or modify their option forms until August 9. The deadline for the five-year LLB programme has also been extended, giving students another opportunity to include newly approved institutions in their preference list.
