Indian women’s cricket team star batsman Jemimah Rodrigues has been ruled out of the current season of ‘The Hundred’ due to a hamstring injury. Her franchise, Southern Brave, confirmed this on Saturday, August 8. Jemimah performed brilliantly in the tournament, scoring 143 runs in six matches, with a strike rate of 131.19. She also won the Player of the Match award in two consecutive matches.

Southern Brave has been in excellent form this season, winning five of its six matches. The team still has two matches remaining in the league stage. However, the severity of Jemimah’s injury has not yet been disclosed. Depending on the severity of the injury, recovery can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months. Therefore, the picture regarding her return is unclear.

Concerns also grow about her participation in the Asia Cup
Jemimah’s injury could also impact India’s upcoming Asia Cup campaign. The Women’s Asia Cup is scheduled to be held in Hong Kong from August 28th. If Jemimah is not fit in time, the Indian team could suffer a major loss. While Jemimah’s performance in T20 cricket may not have been her strongest format, her excellent fielding and run-scoring skills in the middle overs are crucial for the team.

Charlie Knott Gets Southern Brave Opportunity
Australian all-rounder Charlie Knott has been included in the Southern Brave squad in place of Jemimah. Charlie was previously part of the team in ‘The Hundred’ in 2024. She recently performed brilliantly, scoring 404 runs and taking 27 wickets in 14 matches. She will strengthen the team with her batting and off-spin bowling. Jemimah’s absence could be a major blow to both the Southern Brave and the Indian team.
