8. Netaji Bhavan Museum

9. Jhansi Fort

Jhansi Fort, located on the Bangira Hill in Uttar Pradesh, was built in the 17th century by Orchha King Veer Singh Bundela. This historic fort is a central site of the First War of Independence of 1857 and the saga of Rani Lakshmibai’s heroism. It is here that Rani Lakshmibai led the war against the British. Inside the fort is the queen’s five-story court and an ancient Shiva temple.

10. Aga Khan Palace, Pune

The Quit India Movement began at the Aga Khan Palace in Pune. It is the historic prison where Mahatma Gandhi, Kasturba Gandhi, and Mahadev Desai were imprisoned in 1942. Built in 1892 by Sultan Muhammad Shah Aga Khan III, the palace’s purpose was to provide employment to the oppressed poor of Pune. It has been declared a monument of national importance by the Archaeological Survey of India. The marble tombs of both are located within the complex. Currently, this institution manufactures Khadi textiles.
