Shockingly, 40-year-old Simon Levy committed the second murder when he was out on bail after being granted bail in the first murder. After this entire incident came to light, Kemi Badenoch has strongly criticized the Crown Prosecution Service and the Metropolitan Police. She has argued that the rapist was repeatedly released from custody, which allowed him to continue his heinous attacks.

Levy, 40, faces a possible life sentence after being convicted of murdering two young women and raping and attempting to strangle a third. Police fear he may have targeted many more women, whose identities may be revealed in the coming days.

The police watchdog said two officers are being investigated for possible negligence and misconduct following a trial at the Old Bailey. Officers believe he may have carried out daily attacks since 2018, stalking unsuspecting young women in the capital, London. 

Writing in the Daily Mail, Conservative leader Badenoch said a broken system had sent him back onto the streets to continue offending and a soft approach to justice meant serious criminals felt they could get away with crimes.

Guilty of assaulting a total of 13 girls

He has been convicted of 2 murders, 2 rapes and an attempted strangulation and attacks on 13 young women. 40-year-old Simon Levy could face life imprisonment. He has been found guilty of murdering 2 young women and raping and attempting to strangle a third woman. His actions began by touching women inappropriately on the London Underground and later he started targeting and killing young women.

The police failed to oppose the bail.

Levy murdered a woman named Sheryl Wilkins in Tottenham in August 2025, despite having been granted bail for the murder. He was initially arrested on suspicion of murdering Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo in South London in March of the previous year, but was later released. This occurred because the Crown Prosecution Service failed to oppose bail during Levy’s first hearing at Magistrates’ Court, and then failed to provide crucial information about his previous crimes to the judge at his next appearance.
