The grand trailer launch of Toxic was held in Bengaluru; the launch was attended by the cast Yash, Tara Sutaria, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Nayanthara, among others. The trailer of the film has got mixed reviews from netizens and critics called Yash’s action-packed, blood-soaked avatar absolute carnage. The film also has several intimate and bold moments.

Ever since the songs, trailer and teaser of the film Toxic was dropped, netizens have slammed Kiara for her bold, intimate scenes with Yash. In fact, many questioned Kiara over the lip-lock scenes, and fans of Sidharth Malhotra wanted to know what his reaction as a husband would be upon seeing his wife Kiara doing intimate scenes and locking lips on-screen with Yash.

Hours after the trailer was launched, taking to his Instagram story on Sunday, August 9, Sidharth praised Kiara’s hard work and dedication.

He wrote, “The effort, the grind, the passion- it’s all going to show on the big screen. Going to be one of your bests Ki!! Can’t wait to see the magic @geetu_mohandas @thenameisyash, you and the entire team has created. Best wishes team #Toxic. Looking forward to 26th Aug.”

At the trailer launch of Toxic in Bengaluru on Saturday, where the trailer was screened across the country, Yash addressed the criticism Kiara Advani has faced.

“And what you have to go through as an actor unfortunately, don’t care (about it). Whatever you believe in, you should do and people will celebrate, people will appreciate. It’s just that we are a little ahead of times,” he added.

Amid the explosive visuals and larger-than-life scale, Rukmini Vasanth’s words for director Geetu Mohandas and Rocking Star Yash from the trailer evening have gone viral.

While greeting the media, fans and paps at the trailer launch, Kiara greeted in Kannada, saying, Bengaluru namaskara.

Taking the stage, Rukmini, who plays Mellisa in the film, expressed her gratitude to Geetu Mohandas for guiding her through the complexities of the character and pushing her to explore new dimensions as an actor.

She said, “I would like to thank Geetu Mohandas, the indomitable director. Thank you for being a constant presence, for holding my hand through this film and this complex character. Thank you for never letting go. You constantly pushed me to go further and demanded more. I’ve learnt so much and I’m so grateful.”

The trailer showcases Rukmini in a striking new avatar, stepping away from her girl-next-door image to embody Mellisa with a sharp, enigmatic presence. Her character appears to be deeply immersed in a world of crime, romance and betrayal, adding another intriguing layer to the film’s powerful female ensemble.

Rukmini also took a moment to acknowledge Rocking Star Yash, speaking about the support, trust and creative freedom he extended to her during the making of the film. Reflecting on her experience of working alongside him, she said, “Yash sir, there is so much I could say about what an artist you are and what a star you are. What has stayed with me from the beginning and what will stay with me is how I walked onto the set as an actor and you invited me to be a collaborator. Thank you for that generosity. It’s a spirit I will take on to every set that I work on, that I can also be a strong collaborator and contributor to a film. I’m a fan and I love you.”

With Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups set to release worldwide on August 26, 2026, Rukmini Vasanth is poised to bring a completely different shade to the screen as Mellisa. The actress will also be seen alongside NTR Jr in the upcoming film Dragon.
