Actor Vikram Kochhar has revealed that humility and respect for every member of a film’s team are among the qualities he admires most in Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Vikram, who worked with Shah Rukh in Rajkumar Hirani’s 2023 film Dunki, said he did not receive any specific piece of advice from the superstar but learned several important lessons simply by observing him on set.
Speaking exclusively to IANS, Vikram said, “While I did not receive any advice from him in particular, but I have learned a lot from him — especially humility, how to support your co-actors, and that the story is the real hero.”
The Sumit Sambhal Lega actor said Shah Rukh treats everyone working on a film with respect and makes each person feel valued, regardless of the size of their role.
“He truly believes that an actor is only a small part of the story, and not the entire story. It takes an entire village to make a movie, and every member plays a crucial role,” Vikram said.
He added that he had never seen Shah Rukh distinguish between people on the basis of their roles in a project.
“I have never seen him declaring someone small or big on the basis of their role in the project. This is something I have learned from him that no work is big or small,” he said.
Dunki, which explored the illegal immigration method known as the “donkey flight”, was written, produced, edited and directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The film was backed by Rajkumar Hirani Films in collaboration with Jio Studios and Red Chillies Entertainment.
The film starred Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani and Anil Grover, with Vicky Kaushal making a special appearance.
Released in theatres on December 21, 2023, Dunki received mixed responses from critics and audiences.
