Rodrigo De Paul pays tribute to Lionel Messi with emotional goal celebration

It was an emotional day for Inter Miami after the death of Lionel Messi’s father, Jorge Messi.
With Messi missing Saturday’s match against Monterrey, Rodrigo De Paul found the perfect way to pay tribute to his close friend and team-mate.
De Paul put Miami ahead by firing a low shot from long range into the bottom-left corner.
After scoring, the experienced midfielder sprinted away in celebration and took off his shirt to reveal Messi’s iconic number 10 underneath.
The two recently reached the World Cup final together with Argentina. In that context, it felt especially fitting that De Paul honoured his friend with a goal that reflected Messi’s brilliance on the pitch.
