Next Gen Toyota Hilux Teaser: The Toyota Hilux, renowned for its ruggedness and powerful performance in the Indian automobile market, is now ready to arrive in a new and modern avatar. Toyota India has officially released a teaser for its new lifestyle pickup truck.

This short video clip shows glimpses of the vehicle’s front and rear, indicating that the company is planning to make major and revolutionary changes to its design this time around. The new pickup will be officially unveiled in India on July 28, 2026.

The design will have a futuristic feel to it.

According to the teaser, the new Toyota Hilux’s front face has received radical changes. In line with models available in global markets, the face of the new Hilux for India appears to be more aggressive and futuristic than ever before.

While the vehicle’s side profile and overall structure are expected to remain the same as the current model, the rear could feature minor improvements to the tail section. The pickup will retain its signature two-cab configuration, making it suitable for both city and off-road use.

Major changes inside the cabin

The biggest highlight of the new Hilux will be its interior. The company has completely redesigned its cabin and dashboard. It now features two large 12.3-inch screens: one for the digital instrument cluster and the other for the infotainment system. This is a significant upgrade over the old 7.8-inch unit.

The special thing is that this new infotainment system will also support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which will make the driving experience more convenient and modern.

No mechanical changes to the engine

While the design and features have received significant changes, Toyota has opted for a more conservative engine. The new Hilux will be powered by the same reliable 2.8-liter diesel engine that powers the Toyota Fortuner. This engine produces 201 bhp and 500 Nm of peak torque, paired with an automatic transmission.

It will retain the low-range transfer case for off-road enthusiasts. Furthermore, the company may also add a 48V mild-hybrid system to improve fuel efficiency.

What will be the price of the new Hilux?

The new Toyota Hilux is expected to be priced between ₹30.00 lakh and ₹38.00 lakh (ex-showroom). In India, it will primarily compete with vehicles like the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross. This new offering from Toyota in the lifestyle pickup segment is expected to appeal to customers looking for a rugged off-roader with premium features.
