
Dhar. Six young men from Vadodara, Gujarat, were killed in a horrific road accident on the Dhar-Ujjain four-lane road on Sunday afternoon. The accident occurred near village Panchkavasa around 1 p.m. The young men were returning to Gujarat in a Maruti Eco van after visiting the Mahakal Temple in Ujjain. Another young man was seriously injured in the accident and is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Head-on collision with a trolley coming from the wrong side –
According to reports, a trolley loaded with iron was reportedly traveling at high speed on the Badnawar-Ujjain four-lane road towards Ujjain. It collided head-on with an Eco-van coming from the opposite side.
The impact was so severe that the Eco-van was severely damaged. The six young men travelling in the van died on the spot. The trolley driver fled the scene after the accident.
Bodies removed from vehicle after great effort –
Upon receiving information about the accident, Badnawar TI Amit Singh Kushwah, Tehsildar Suresh Nagar, and SDM Priyanka Mimrod arrived at the scene with police force. Local villagers and police personnel broke the glass of the Eco van and pulled out the bodies and the injured youth.
The injured was immediately transported by ambulance to Badnawar Civil Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. A Panchnama (inquest report) of the deceased has been prepared and they have been kept in the mortuary of the Civil Hospital. The bodies will be handed over to their families after the post-mortem examination is complete.
Families informed, search for trolley driver continues –
Police have identified the deceased and informed their families in Gujarat about the accident. A case has been registered against the absconding trolley driver and a search for him has been initiated.
Four-lane traffic was disrupted for some time after the accident. Police arrived at the scene, took control of the situation, and restored traffic.
