New Delhi. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor recently stated at an event in Mumbai that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s “students’ voice” didn’t receive as much support from the public as the CJP’s protests over the NEET paper leak. Tharoor has now issued a clarification, blaming the media. He wrote in a post on Instagram that his conversation with Rishabh Shah at the IIMUN event wasn’t an attack on the Congress party.

Sharing the video of the entire conversation, Shashi Tharoor accused the media of portraying his statement as an attack on the Congress or its leadership, saying it was the result of the failure and ill-intention of some media outlets. He asked people to watch the video he released and decide for themselves, adding that it was not any journalist who presented it in this manner. During an event in Mumbai on August 7th, when asked why the Chhatraon Ki Goonj program did not receive as much support as the protest at Jantar Mantar, Shashi Tharoor said that it was true. Therefore, we have to ask ourselves what we failed to do. Tharoor also asked whether we failed to understand the pulse of the people.

Shashi Tharoor also said at the event that all opposition parties must remember that they did not pave the way for those who participated in the Jantar Mantar protest last month. The Congress MP also said that Rahul Gandhi’s “Chhatraon Ki Goonj” program raised the same issues as the CJP. It’s worth noting that Shashi Tharoor has previously been in the news for his statements. Last year, there were reports of his conflict with the Congress leadership. At that time, Tharoor had said that if the party had no work for him, there was more work to be done. In fact, at that time, the Congress was not allowing Tharoor to speak on any issue in the Lok Sabha. When the Modi government sent Tharoor abroad over Operation Sindoor, several Congress leaders targeted him.
