Siddharthnagar. An awareness program on drug de-addiction was organized on Sunday in the auditorium of Anand Hostel of Siddharth University, Kapilvastu, under the “Drug-Free Youth for a Developed India – Sankalp Abhiyan.” University faculty and hostel students were present. The program aimed to raise awareness among youth about the ill effects of drug addiction and ensure their active role in building a drug-free and developed India.
Presiding over the program, Dean of Student Welfare, Prof. Neeta Yadav, stated that drug addiction is a serious challenge facing society today, with the greatest impact on the young generation. She stated that youth power is the country’s greatest energy source, and if youth stay away from drugs and channel their energy into education, sports, creative activities, and nation-building, they will contribute significantly to realizing the vision of a developed India. She emphasized that drug de-addiction requires awareness, as well as the collective participation of families, educational institutions, and society.
On this occasion, Information and Public Relations Officer, Dr. Avinash Pratap Singh, stated that drug de-addiction is not merely a matter of individual resolve, but a collective responsibility of the entire society. Youth should not only stay away from drugs themselves but also raise awareness among their friends, family, and other members of society about its ill effects. He urged students not to limit themselves to this campaign for a drug-free India, but also to inspire those around them to join in. He emphasized that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body, and that healthy, educated, and cultured youth will form the strong foundation of a developed India.
University faculty and hostel students, including Prof. Satyendra Kumar Dubey, Prof. Laxman Singh, Prof. Kaushalendra Chaturvedi, Dr. Vishal Gupta, Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh, Dr. Amarjeet Yadav, Dr. Amit Sahni, and Dr. Abdul Hafeez, were present at the event. At the end of the event, all faculty and students took a collective pledge to stay away from drugs and spread awareness about drug abuse in society. They pledged to further the campaign for a drug-free India and to involve more and more youth in this social movement.
