IRCTC’s new website launched, train tickets can now be booked in minutes, reducing the hassle of Captcha.

IRCTC Ticket Booking: If you frequently use the IRCTC website to book train tickets, there’s great news for you. Indian Railways has released a beta version of the new IRCTC website. It’s currently launched for testing so users can use it and provide suggestions. The Railways says that further improvements will be made to the website based on feedback, after which it will be fully rolled out to all passengers.

It’s worth noting that the current IRCTC website was launched in 2002 and today handles an average of over 1.45 million ticket bookings daily. After nearly 24 years, its design and ticket booking system are undergoing a major overhaul.

A new interface and easier checkout will provide a better experience.

Regarding this new app, the Railway Ministry has stated that the biggest change in the new website is its clean and user-friendly interface. There will be fewer unnecessary pop-ups and distracting elements on the screen, making ticket booking easier and faster than before. Additionally, the checkout process has been simplified. Previously, booking tickets required multiple screens and steps, but now this process has been shortened, saving time.

Reduced Captcha Hassle

The biggest relief offered by this new website is regarding Captcha. The need to repeatedly enter Captcha during ticket booking has been significantly reduced. This is expected to be especially beneficial for passengers booking Tatkal tickets. Furthermore, there will be no need to repeatedly switch options to check seat availability in different classes. Users will be able to view seat availability in all classes on a single screen. If you regularly book tickets for the same passengers, saved passenger information can be reused. This eliminates the hassle of entering name, age, and other details each time.

Website to soon integrate with new PRS system

The Railway Ministry stated that suggestions from students at MNIT Jaipur have been incorporated into the design of the new website to make the platform more modern and user-friendly.

For information, it is currently in beta and has been released for feedback. In the future, it will also be integrated with the Railways’ new Passenger Reservation System (PRS), ensuring faster and more stable ticket booking even during heavy traffic. If beta testing is successful, millions of passengers will soon be able to use the new IRCTC portal.
