According to him, oil tankers sometimes have to travel an additional 18,000 kilometers to deliver crude oil to India.

He said that a movement is underway claiming that ethanol will not work and only pure petrol should be used. Questioning this, he said, “Will pure petrol come from your father’s house? If there is no pure petrol in the country, where will it come from?”
Janardan Mishra further said that if ethanol is not produced in the country, where will petrol and diesel come from? He also questioned the opposition to ethanol-powered vehicles and said that India needs to increase domestic production of alternative fuels.

The Rewa MP also cited Brazil as an example of ethanol use. He said that Brazil produces the largest amount of ethanol in the world, and that is why vehicles there run on 100% ethanol.
