New Delhi: Tensions around the Strait of Hormuz appear to be escalating once again. Reports emerged on Sunday that a massive fire broke out on an oil tanker off the coast of Oman. It is claimed that anti-ship cruise missiles fired from the southern Iranian port of Sirik hit the tanker, causing a large plume of fire and smoke to appear in the sea. The incident reportedly occurred near the Kumzar area of ​​Oman’s Musandam Peninsula, where the crucial sea route through the Strait of Hormuz begins. According to reports, the tanker caught fire and flames were visible for a long distance, lighting up the night sky with an orange-red glow.
