The BCCI has announced his replacement. The board has named Sarfaraz Khan in Sudarshan’s place in the squad. It’s worth noting that Sai Sudarshan has been ruled out of the Sri Lanka tour due to injury.

BCCI announces replacement for Sai Sudarshan

In fact, on Sunday, August 9, the BCCI issued a media advisory stating that Sai Sudarshan has been ruled out of the Test series against Sri Lanka. He is recovering from a thumb injury at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. The board also stated that the selection committee has included Sarfaraz Khan in the squad for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.

Returned to the team after 2 years

Indian batsman Sarfaraz Khan has returned to Team India after nearly two years. He last played a Test match against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in November 2024. Now, he has returned to the Indian team once again. He has been included in the squad as a replacement for the injured Sai Sudarshan.

Sarfaraz Khan Cricket Career

Sarfaraz Khan made his Test debut against England in 2024. He has only represented Team India in red-ball cricket so far. Sarfaraz has played a total of six Test matches for India, scoring 371 runs in 11 innings, including one century.
