Riyadh. Sixteen Bangladeshi citizens have died in a massive fire at a sofa factory in the Musa Saniya area of ​​Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. On Monday, the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the incident and expressed deep sorrow and condolences to the families of the deceased.

The Ministry issued an official statement on Sunday expressing its condolences on the incident. How did the accident happen?

According to reports, the fire broke out at around 3:30 pm local time on Sunday afternoon at a sofa factory in Riyadh’s Khordam city. The fire quickly spread and engulfed the entire factory. The ministry stated that officials from the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh were immediately at the scene upon receiving information about the incident.

They are continuously coordinating with Saudi authorities to identify the victims and complete the necessary formalities for repatriation of the bodies. The Embassy is also working to gather detailed information about the incident and provide assistance to those affected.
