Parliament is now in the final stages of the monsoon session. However, the proceedings had to be adjourned twice. Today, the government introduced four bills in the Lok Sabha. These bills are to the demands of the states, so it was expected that the opposition would allow Parliament to proceed. The four bills introduced today include the bill to change the name of Kerala to Keralam, the Tribunal Reforms Bill, 2026, the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026 and the National Cooperative Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

There are only four days left for the monsoon session to end. The government is continuously holding talks with opposition leaders. Kiren Rijiju himself has held several rounds of talks with Rahul Gandhi. The four bills introduced in the House today modernize the country’s legal, administrative and financial infrastructure and address the demands of the states, so the opposition parties cannot oppose these bills.
