Rajgarh Car Accident: A tragic accident occurred during the rain on Monday in Padana town of Sarangpur area of ​​Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh. Drain water was flowing rapidly over the road. Meanwhile, an Eco car driver tried to take the vehicle out of the drain despite the strong flow of water. Within a short time, the car got caught in the flow and fell into a deep drain. A total of 11 people including four children, four women and three men were travelling in the vehicle.

Bodies of seven people recovered , two rescued by villagers

Immediately after the accident, local residents began rescue and relief operations. Two men were rescued safely. Meanwhile, police, administration, and rescue teams conducted the operation for several hours. By around 2 p.m., the bodies of seven people had been recovered. The search for other missing people was ongoing.

The family had gone to visit a religious place.

According to reports, a family from Satwas village in Dewas district was traveling in an Eco-Car to visit a religious site in Kadnavad village, Sarangpur tehsil, Rajgarh. Near the Padana bypass, they encountered a swollen drain. Due to the rain, the drain water was flowing high above the road and the current was extremely strong.

Despite seeing the flow of water, he drove the car forward.

According to locals, the water in the drain was so high that it was difficult to distinguish between the road and the drain. Despite this, the driver decided to continue driving instead of stopping the car. The car lost balance amid the strong current and began to drift towards the drain. Within moments, the vehicle was submerged in the deep water.

The villagers tried to stop the driver.

Eyewitnesses said that about five or six people present at the scene had discouraged the driver from driving further. Given the strong current, they advised him to wait for the rain to stop and the water to subside. Despite this, the driver drove the vehicle into the drain. Within moments, the car became caught in the current and fell into the drain.

The body of a three-year-old child was the first to be recovered.

Upon receiving information about the accident, police and administrative teams arrived at the scene. The Sarangpur SDM and SDOP, along with other officials, joined in the rescue and relief efforts. Villagers also assisted the rescue teams with ropes. The body of a three-year-old child was the first to be recovered during the operation. Subsequently, the bodies of six other people, including women and children, were also recovered. Locals rescued two men, Mukesh and Hukum Singh, safely.

The brother was informed of the accident at 11:30 am.

The car was reportedly being driven by Mukesh Nayak, a resident of Dhansad village. According to his brother, Bala Nayak, they received information about the accident around 11:30 a.m. Mukesh had called them using someone else’s mobile phone to inform them of the incident.

Rescue operation continues to search for the remaining people

A rescue operation is currently underway to find the remaining victims of the flood. The recovered bodies have been placed in a padana. Following the accident, the area is in mourning, and the families are inconsolable.
