Como have officially completed the signing of Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea for a reported fee of €30m plus add-ons. “It’s an ambitious, rising project, and working with manager Cesc Fabregas again is truly special.”

The talks had been going on for several weeks, including a phase when Como stepped back because of a non-aggression understanding with Inter.

But once the Nerazzurri decided that the €30m plus add-ons asking price was too high, they withdrew from negotiations and Como moved back in to finalise the deal.

Trevoh Chalobah arrived in Italy on Wednesday to undergo his medical, but the transfer has only been officially confirmed today.

The 27-year-old has signed a contract with Como that runs until June 2031, ending his long association with Chelsea after progressing through the club’s youth academy.

“I’m thrilled and honoured to be here at Como,” Chalobah told the club website.

“It’s an ambitious, rising project, and working with manager Cesc Fabregas again is truly special. I can’t wait to bring my experience to the team, feel the incredible atmosphere at the stadium, and connect with the fans.

“I will give my absolute all every single day to make history together.”

Fabregas already knew Chalobah from their time together at Chelsea and had been impressed by how much he developed over the years, a rise that eventually earned him a place in the England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“Trevoh is an important signing for us and a player who represents the level of ambition we have at this club,” said Fabregas.

“He has competed and won at the highest level, but he is also hungry to begin a new chapter and continue improving.

“He gives us strength, speed and personality in defence, as well as the technical quality to build from the back. He is a leader who can raise the level of the team, and I am very happy that he has chosen Como.”

Given his long history at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea gave Chalobah a warm farewell through their official channels.
