Manchester United and Arsenal are among several Premier League clubs keeping close tabs on Club Brugge star Joaquin Seys after carrying out extensive scouting on the highly rated full-back.

The Belgian defender has emerged as one of Europe’s most in-demand young defensive prospects, with Manchester United and Arsenal now looking into the possibility of bringing him to the Premier League.

According to a report in The Sun, Manchester United, Arsenal and Aston Villa have all made formal enquiries over Seys’ availability.

Newcastle United are also interested in the defender, although they are currently behind their English rivals in the battle to secure his signature.

The report adds that Club Brugge are under no pressure to sell their rising talent, who still has three years left on his contract.

The Belgian club are expected to ask for €35 million (£30 million) before agreeing to let him leave.

It is further stated that Manchester United see left-back as a position that needs a clear long-term answer and will not be put off by that valuation.

However, it is still unclear whether the decision-makers at Old Trafford will move ahead with a deal in the current window or hold off while giving priority to other transfer business.

As Manchester United assess their options across defence, other alternatives are also being put forward.

Along with their interest in Seys, United have also been offered Tottenham full-back Djed Spence, who is capable of playing on either side of the defence and is looking for guaranteed game time.

Joaquin Seys has grown into one of Club Brugge’s brightest young players after coming through the Belgian club’s system.
