IND vs SL: India will play Sri Lanka in a two-Test series starting August 15th. All eyes will be on Gurnur Brar, who has earned his first Test call-up for India in this series. He has performed exceptionally well for India in ODIs so far. Now, he’s ready for Test cricket as well, having staked his claim for an international Test debut with a strong performance in a practice match against Sri Lanka XI.
Gurnoor Brar not only made a splash with the ball but also with the bat in the warm-up match. He has staked his claim for a place in the playing XI for the first Test between India and Sri Lanka, to be held from August 15-19. Now, former Indian cricket team’s legendary fast bowler Zaheer Khan has made a significant statement about Gurnoor Brar. Let’s find out what he said about him.
Gurnoor Brar’s big statement on Zaheer Khan
Zaheer Khan said, “It’s good to see a young team of fast bowlers bowling at a fast pace. Gurnoor Brar has the potential to have a long and successful career. It’s good that he’s been promoted so quickly. Even when I spent some time with him, I saw tremendous potential in him. We’ll have to wait and see how his career ultimately turns out, but he’s impressed me the most in terms of potential.”
Gurnur Brar created a stir in the warm-up match
In the first innings of the warm-up match between India and Sri Lanka XI, he conceded 49 runs in 12 overs and took 1 wicket.
