The incident took place in Renu Nagar, located on Purnia College Road. The deceased has been identified as Shalini Kumari. Shalini worked as a teacher at a Plus Two school in Srinagar. Her accused husband, Rajkumar Yadav, is said to be a manager at a cooperative bank in Madhubani.

According to locals, the two had an argument over something on Sunday morning. As the argument escalated, Rajkumar Yadav allegedly shot his wife, Shalini. Hearing the gunshot, people from the neighborhood rushed to the house, where Shalini lay on the ground, covered in blood. People rushed to the hospital, but she had already died by then.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Sadar police arrived at the scene and sealed the scene. Police took the body into custody and sent it to Purnia Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police officials say that preliminary investigations suggest a domestic dispute. The actual motive behind the murder, and whether there are any other reasons, are being investigated.

Meanwhile, the accused husband, Rajkumar Yadav, fled the scene after committing the crime. Police have launched raids at possible locations to arrest him. They have collected evidence from the scene and are questioning people nearby.

The deceased’s family is also in shock. Kumar Gauri Shankar, a relative of the deceased, said, “We don’t understand anything. What happened at home, how did it happen? Shalini was a very good person. The accused should be punished severely.”

Meanwhile, MP Pappu Yadav’s representative, Rajesh Yadav, condemned the incident and said, “This is a very unfortunate incident. The murder of a teacher in this manner is a matter of shame for the society. The police should arrest the accused as soon as possible and the case should be investigated impartially.”
