Knews Desk- Team India is going to take the field once again with the intention of leaving its mark in Test cricket. The 2-match Test series against Sri Lanka will start from August 15 in Galle. India is going to play a Test series on Sri Lankan soil after almost 9 years and it is starting from the ground where the dominance of spin bowlers is seen. Two Sri Lankan players can make Galle's challenge even more difficult. These are experienced batsman Dinesh Chandimal and left arm spinner Prabhat Jayasuriya.

Dinesh Chandimal's record at Galle International Stadium is excellent. Chandimal, who was Sri Lanka's wicketkeeper-batsman for a long time, now plays mainly as a batsman and provides strength to the team at number three or four. He has scored 1,979 runs in 44 innings in Galle. During this period, he has scored 6 centuries and 10 half-centuries. His average in balls is around 55 and he is fourth among the batsmen who have scored the most runs on this ground. Chandimal's record against India is also a matter of concern for Team India. He has scored 750 runs in 8 test matches against India at an average of around 50. During this period he has scored 2 centuries and 3 half-centuries. In such a situation, it will be very important to get Chandimal out early in front of the Indian bowlers. If he settles down in the conditions of Galle, he can give a big score to Sri Lanka's first innings.

On the other hand, Prabhat Jayasuriya can prove to be the biggest threat to India in Galle. Jayasuriya made his Test debut at the age of 30, but after that he quickly gained recognition with his bowling. His performance especially on the Galle pitch has been excellent. He has taken 81 wickets in just 11 test matches on this ground. He is third among the bowlers who have taken the most wickets in Galle and has achieved the feat of taking 5 wickets in an innings 9 times. The most special thing about Prabhat Jayasuriya's record is that out of the total 125 wickets in his Test career, 81 wickets have come in Galle alone. This means that his performance on this ground has been much more effective as compared to other places. Indian batsmen will have to bat very carefully against his flight, turn and arm balls.

Jayasuriya's challenge for Team India will be different because he has not played a single test match against India till now. That means Indian batsmen do not have much experience in Test cricket against them. Despite this, they will have to face them directly on their most successful ground. Whereas Chandimal has a lot of experience and a strong record of playing against India. In such a situation, the path of Team India's victory in the Galle Test can pass through these two players. If the Indian bowlers are successful in sending Chandimal to the pavilion early and the batsmen are able to break the spin of Prabhat Jayasuriya, then the match can be easy for India. But if Chandimal's bat works and Jayasuriya shows his spin magic on the Galle pitch, then the first Test starting from August 15 can prove to be very difficult for Team India.
