Delhi Police is using modern technology to further strengthen the security arrangements of the Red Fort on 15th August i.e. Independence Day. This time Abhigyan App will also play an important role in the security system. Amidst the presence of VIPs, VVIPs and thousands of common spectators, this app will help the security forces in identifying suspicious people.

What is Abhigyan App?

Abhigyan App is a modern technical system to smart policing. With its help, security personnel can check the possible criminal record of a suspect on the spot. For this, special handheld biometric devices are provided to policemen. If the activity of any person in the crowd seems suspicious, then the security personnel can scan his fingerprint through the device.

Matching will happen with the database in a few seconds

After the fingerprint is scanned, the Abhigyan app searches the relevant information in the large criminal database present in the backend. According to available information, records of more than one crore criminals are available in this database.

The system matches the scanned fingerprint with the database and the result comes out within a few seconds. This can help the police to decide further action on the spot.

Information will be available from red and green signals

The specialty of Abhigyan app is its color code system. If the scanned fingerprint matches a registered criminal record, a red signal appears on the screen. Along with this, available criminal information of the person concerned can also be revealed. At the same time, if there is no criminal record match in the database, then the system shows a green signal.

Why is this technology necessary at the Red Fort?

A large number of people reach the Red Fort during Independence Day. In such a situation, it is not practical to take every suspicious person to the police station and investigate. With the help of Abhigyan app, initial investigation can be done on the spot.

Along with this, technologies like Facial Recognition System (FRS) cameras and anti-drone system are also being used for the security of the Red Fort. The objective of all these arrangements is to quickly identify any potential threat and to maintain strong security during the Independence Day celebrations.
